Caroline Schild-Poulter Ph.D.

Caroline is a Professor in the Biochemistry Department and Scientist at the Robarts Research Institute, Schulich Scholl of Medicine, Western University in London, ON. Caroline obtained her Masters in Biology and PhD in Molecular Biology at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. She also spent 18 months at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD during her PhD, and it is where she met Dr. Michael Poulter, co-founder of OB Pharmaceuticals. The two were married in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1993.
Following two years of postdoctoral studies at the Institut de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire du CNRS in Strasbourg, France, and the Loeb Health Research Institute (Ottawa, ON), Caroline became a research associate at the Loeb Institute and the Ottawa Health Research Institute where she held an adjunct position with the University of Ottawa.
Caroline arrived at the Robarts Research Institute in 2006 as a Scientist and later became an Assistant professor in the Biochemistry Department at Western University. Caroline was appointed Full Professor in 2021. Her research is based on her long-standing interest in the molecular mechanisms involved in the maintenance of genomic stability and carcinogenesis.
